Established online lingerie retailer, Tempestra, needed their site design modernising in order to increase conversions. Various improvements were made to the design such as improving the navigation so users could find products more easily, redesigning the cart and checkout process and reducing ‘clutter’ so users can find the information they need easily. It was important for the site to look like a lingerie shop while still remaining classy, this was achieved through the use of deep purples, greys and blacks.
The homepage design makes full use of imagery both to create a striking first impression and as a way to promote new lines and offers. The site has an extensive number of links in the navigation, dropdown menus were used to keep the expanse of menu items shown at any one time to a minimum.The main purpose of the redesign was to increase the site’s conversion rate. Two key areas of improvement were the product and checkout pages. The product page now gives relevant information about the product and a clear call to action to add it to the cart. In order to reduce the cart abandonment rate the whole checkout process needed to be simplified and made more logical.
